Tavern to change name to SWENEY'S TAVERN
The Farnsworth House Inn is proud to announce that we will be naming our tavern SWENEY'S TAVERN in honor of Harvey Sweney who owned the house during the Battle of Gettysburg. Harvey was a butcher as well as one of Gettysburg's first school teachers. He is also known for writing one of the best accounts of seeing President Lincoln pass by the house on his way to deliver the infamous Gettysburg Address. Look for nightly specials in the tavern. Our Civil War themed restaurant will remain the Farnsworth House Inn Restaurant with favorites such as our game pie and pumpkin fritters! The Farnsworth House Inn Restaurant is the only restaurant in Gettysburg to have been reviewed by Bon Appetit Magazine. Get ready to book your B&B rooms for 2011 on October 1!
