Gettysburg Getaway Offers Taste of the Past

The temperature will be approaching 50 degrees this weekend for a Gettysburg getaway. Do not miss the new Visitor Center and Cyclorama. The beautiful building is filled with historic relics and information from the battle.

Beat the winter blahs by getting a taste of the past! Just down the street from the Cyclorama is the Historic Farnsworth House Inn with over 100 bullet holes from oncoming Union fire. The attic was taken over by Confederate Sharpshooters. Many believe the bullet that shot Jennie Wade came from the attic window. The Farnsworth House Inn Tavern is open weekends this winter from 11:30am-8pm serving our tavern menu and a selection of our regular dining room favorites such as our famous game pie.

Finish your evening in a haunted house. The Farnsworth House is ranked to be one of the most haunted inns in America by the Travel Channel & A&E. We are the origins of Gettysburg ghost storytelling with the largest variety of presentations...something for everyone! Take in a ghost hunt using equipment the pros use. Our Combination Tour will take you on a candlelight stroll with a visit to our haunted cellar and attic. Experience a re-creation of a Victorian Seance in our brand new Seance Room.

Want a taste of our dining room? Our Vacant Chair Dinner Theatre features a family style dinner with period songs, mourning customs and superstitions, followed by ghost stories. Our Murder Mystery Dinner returns next week and will run every Friday night thru the end of March. Get away for a taste of the past and an evening of entertainment at the Historic Farsnworth House in Gettysburg, PA. We look forward to you joining us! http://www.farnsworthhouseinn.com/

Regular in-season dining room and tavern hours will resume Easter weekend.
